Toronto Blue Jays GM Ross Atkins has made quite a few questionable moves over the last few years and the latest has been not being able to sign Vladimir Guerrero Jr to a contract extension.
The Blue Jays and Guerrero seem to be in a bad place right now as the superstar first baseman is looking for around $500 million for his next contract while the Blue Jays seem to think he is not worth that much.
Ross Atkins' time with the Blue Jays might be coming to an end because of Vladimir Guerrero Jr
The Blue Jays seem to be in a tough spot with
Guerrero as the two parties continue to drift apart which seems to be leading toward them either trading Guerrero or letting him walk in free agency next off-season.

MLB reporter Mike Wilner believes that Ross Atkins has completely blew his chances with Guerrero especially when he could have closed a much cheaper deal for him a few years ago.
Mike Wilner of the Toronto Star recently spoke on the Foul Territory podcast to discuss the ongoing Guerrero situation. During his appearance, he highlighted how the Blue Jays "really blew it" by failing to sign the standout slugger to an extension two years ago. -Lampert
Wilner made a good point of showing how the biggest issue with Atkins and the Blue Jays front office is that they are constantly acting like they are the smartest in the room even if it is constantly hurting them.
Wilner notes Atkins and the Blue Jays front office have operated like "the smartest people in the room," which continues to cost them. Chief among those crippling decisions has been dragging out Guerrero's contractual status to a point where they could lose him for nothing. -Lampert
According to reports
Guerrero seems less interested in signing with the Blue Jays by the day and if Atkins cannot get him to re-sign, it will most likely end up costing him his job.
Vladdy intends to halt any dialogue on the first full day of Spring Training, meaning time is of the essence. In that scenario, it's hard to justify Atkins sticking around. -Lampert
