The MLB makes announcement concerning Blue Jays Daulton Varsho

A few weeks ago utility man Davis Schneider won the same award for his incredible diving catch against the Chicago Cubs.

On social media yesterday, the MLB announced that Varsho was awarded the Chevrolet play of the week for his diving catch against the Twins in which he tracked down a ball at the wall and diving to steal a homerun.

Varsho has missed a big portion of the season due too injuries but has been incredible in the few games he has played especially offensively where no one expected him to put up the numbers he has been.

After his homerun in yesterday's win over the Reds, Varsho is now averaging a homerun in every 10 at bats which is only behind Seattle Mariners Cal Raleigh who is averaging 9.9 at bats every homerun.

Varsho has played in 50 games this season in which he has a total of 17 homeruns, 44 RBIs, a .228 batting average and .288 on base percentage in only 171 at bats.

As of right now, Varsho is only 10 homeruns away from beating his career high of 27 which took him 151 games to get back in 2022 with the Arizona Diamondbacks.

There has been a lot of Blue Jays players such as George Springer and Addison Barger that have stepped up their game this season but Varsho is another one that has helped get Toronto into first place this season despite play much less games.
