The Toronto Blue Jays 2025 MVP has fans surprised
The Toronto Blue Jays MVP for 2025 has many candidates, but to many's surprise, George Springer is a name on top of that list for the AL East leaders.
The MLB veteran has had a significant resurgence from last season which no one saw coming this off-season.
George Springer easy candidate for Toronto Blue Jays MVP.
Edward Eng of Jays Journal broke down the MVP candidates for the Blue Jays in 2025, while there clear standouts, it was George Springer that makes the most compelling case.
"However, it has certainly come as a surprise that a revitalized George Springer has taken the charge in leading the revitalization of the Blue Jays. In doing so, the savvy veteran appears to be the runaway favourite to be the Blue Jays MVP of the 2025 season."-Eng
Not only has Springer had a comeback year, he's having a career and at 36 years old, it's extremely impressive.
"This year, Springer had been on the forefront of the Jays' offensive attack. In fact, he is currently hitting a career-high .304, along with an elite .944 OPS, 101 runs scored, 23 doubles, 30 home runs and 79 RBIs in 132 games played to date. Springer hasn't slowed down, literally in more ways than one, as he has also gone 16-for-16 in stolen bases on the year."-Eng
It's not only on the Blue Jays where Springer stands out amongst the rest, but also all across the MLB in general when looking at his .454 on base percentage, .656 slugging percentage and .369 batting average.
"Since the All-Star Break, Springer ranks first in the league in on-base percentage (.454), slugging percentage (.656), OPS (1.110), and second in the MLB in batting average (.369) and runs scored (47), courtesy of Blue Jays Today. So much for tiring out over the grind of a 162-game schedule."-Eng
George Springer is the best player on one of the best teams in baseball, he's not only the Blue Jays MVP, but makes a strong case for the American League MVP.
