Blue Jays sign Eloy Jimenez to a minor league deal
News broke late tonight on the Blue Jays day off that they have signed
Jimenez to a minor league deal after he was released by the Tampa Bay Rays last month.
Breaking News: According to my sources, Eloy Jiménez has signed a minor league contract with the Toronto Blue Jays. Eloy is in good health and ready to play; he is only waiting to obtain his work visa. #Toronto #BlueJays
According to reports, Jimenez is in good health and ready to start playing but the Blue Jays are just waiting for him to get his work visa to head across the border.

, the #BlueJays have signed DH Eloy Jiménez to a Minor League deal, who is working to obtain his work visa.
Jiménez posted a -0.7 bWAR in 2024, and was released by the Tampa Bay Rays on July 11th.
This is a solid signing by the Blue Jays since there is very little risk since they are bringing him in on a minor league deal and it could end up being very rewarding as Jimenez has proved in the past that he can be a great MLB player.
Jimenez was a Silver Slugger winner back in 2020 with the Chicago White Sox when he finished with 14 homeruns and 41 RBIs in a shortened season in which he played 55 games.
So far in 2025, Jimenez has only played in Triple-A with the Rays where he had 3 homeruns and 29 RBIs in 40 games before being released.
