The Toronto Blue Jays announced this afternoon that they have claimed former infielder Isiah Kiner-Falefa off waivers from the Pirates.

Kiner-Falefa was placed on outright waivers by the Pirates earlier this week which had many fans surprised since he was playing quite well.

Ahead of their final game against the Pirates, the Blue Jays announced that they have claimed Kiner-Falefa off waivers from the Pirates as he is headed back to Toronto.

The Toronto Blue Jays claimed utilityman Isiah Kiner-Falefa off waivers from the Pittsburgh Pirates, sources tell ESPN. Kiner-Falefa spent 2024 with the Blue Jays before being traded to the Pirates on July 30.

Shi Davidi announced that Kiner-Falefa will be eligible to play for Toronto in the playoffs if he is added to the roster before September first which means the Blue Jays will have to make a roster move.

This is a great move by the Blue Jays who are getting some much need infielder depth from a player who knows their system very well as he was with them just over a year ago.

It will be interesting to see who then end up moving to make room for Kiner-Falefa which will certainly not be an easy decision to make for the front office.
