The Toronto Blue Jays are still looking to add to their bullpen late in this trade deadline day and have been linked to Pittsburgh Pirates pitcher David Bednar.
Toronto has made some big moves so far at the trade deadline this year but it looks like they are not done as they continue to be linked to multiple players including Los Angeles Angels slugger Taylor Ward.
Blue Jays and Pirates could end up making massive trade for David Bednar before the deadline
According to multiple reports, the Blue Jays are very interested in
Bednar and have had multiple talks about a potential trade which would be the perfect final piece for the Blue Jays bullpen.
With the Jays looking for bullpen help at the trade deadline many media sources, including Sports Illustrated, Newsweek and even Sportsnet have mentioned Pittsburgh Pirates closer David Bednar as their ideal prime target. -Eng
However, to no surprise, the Blue Jays will have to pay quite the price if they want to acquire Bednar as he is regarded as one of the best relief pitchers available and will have to put together quite the package to acquire him.

The good news is that this does not seem to be too big of an issue since the Blue Jays just traded away top prospect Khal Stephens for Shane Bieber proving that they are not afraid to make big moves.
As the trade deadline hits in a few hours, there will likely be some massive moves coming this afternoon for the Blue Jays and many other teams.
So far this season, Bednar has an incredible 2.37 ERA with 17 saves in 38 innings pitched to go along with 38 strikeouts.
