The Toronto Blue Jays are set to take on the Texas Rangers tonight for the final game of the series and have announced that Bo Bichette has gone down with an injury and will not play tonight.
The Blue Jays cannot seem to catch a break this season when it comes to injuries as it seems like some big pieces of their lineup are missing and now Bichette has gone down too.
Blue Jays announce that Bo Bichette has gone down with an injury
Blue Jays manager John Schneider announced before the start of tonight's game that the team has decided to pull
Bichette from the lineup as he is dealing with lower back tightness and they are being extra careful.
John Schneider says Bo Bichette is out of the Blue Jays lineup with «a little lower back tightness.»
Team is trying to keep him off his feet, which is why he was at DH yesterday.
Schneider said Bichette has felt better over course of the day but they're being «extra careful.»
According to reports, the Blue Jays have decided to place Daulton Varsho at the leadoff spot for tonight with Anthony Santander hitting second and Vladimir Guerrero Jr hitting third.
Blue Jays shuffle the lineup in Bichette's absence, with Daulton Varsho up to leadoff and Anthony Santander second in front of Vladimir Guerrero Jr.
John Schneider said they "hadn't planned on" changes. "We'll see how it rolls out and...see how guys do in certain spots."
This is not a good sign for the Blue Jays even though they are making it seem like the injury is nothing too serious as of right now, they said the same about Andres Gimenez and Max Scherzer when they first went down.
Bichette is a big part of the Blue Jays lineup and they simply cannot afford to have him out long term.
