Varsho was running bases yesterday and felt some tightness in his hamstring which caused the Blue Jays to have him stop any sort of running activity in his rehab but he is still throwing and hitting.
Daulton Varsho (hamstring) felt hamstring tightness while running bases Monday. Blue Jays backing him off from running for now, but he's still facing live pitching & taking fly balls
Club will monitor his recovery in coming days before continuing ramp up to minor-league games
Daulton Varsho felt some tightness in his hamstring while running the bases yesterday. He still hit and "did everything else," per Schneider.
They'll see how things are today, but the plan to keep ramping him up ahead of a minor league rehab assignment. (2/2)
Hopefully this is not too big of a setback but this is devastating for both the Blue Jays and Varsho as he has only played in 24 games this season and with how his recovery is going, it looks like he will miss another couple of weeks.
While the Blue Jays have been doing well without Varsho lately, it is hard to ignore that they would probably be playing even better if they had their best outfielder in the field.
Fans are hoping Varsho will soon return to the lineup but it certainly does not look good with this setback.
