The Toronto Blue Jays announce major progression update on Alek Manoah
The Toronto Blue Jays have been having a lot of issues when it comes to keeping pitchers healthy but the good news is that Alek Manoah is still on the right path to returning this season.
Blue Jays announce injury update on Alek Manoah
Manoah has been recovering from Tommy John Surgery since last season and has been slowly progressing to make a return this season and it looks like he is still on schedule to come back in the second half of the season.
According to reports,
Manoah is now in Dunedin throwing bullpen sessions regularly and have been continuously progressing in his rehab which is a massive positive after such a big surgery.
According to Arden Zwelling of Blue Jays on Sportsnet, Manoah should be back in Toronto at some point later this season."He is in Dunedin, throwing bullpens regularly and advancing through his Tommy John rehab progression. He remains on track to return to Blue Jays sometime in the second half of the season." -Callihan
Since the Blue Jays are so unsure with what is happening with Max Scherzer and even if he does return soon, many are wondering how long he will last since they still have not figured out what the problem is.
While Manoah has struggled over the last few years, having him back will certainly help the starting rotation who has been basically been working with only four pitchers up until recently.
Many do not believe that Manoah will ever be the same pitcher he was back in 2022 when he finished fourth in American League Cy Young voting but this might be his best chance at returning to that form after all this time off.
