The Toronto Blue Jays announce massive update on Vladimir Guerrero Jr

Toronto Blue Jays first baseman Vladimir Guerrero Jr. reached a significant milestone on Wednesday in a game against the Arizona Diamondbacks.
Amid the series, Guerrero Jr. achieved a historic milestone on Wednesday at Rogers Centre.

Maddy Hudak from Toronto Blue Jays On Si writes that in the Blue Jays' 8-1 win, Guerrero Jr. drove in three runs, pushing his career RBI total at home to 300, a mark that etched his name into franchise history.
According to StatsCentre on X, he's now just the ninth player in Blue Jays history to record 300 or more RBI's on home turf.
"The game on Wednesday was the third that featured a new lineup change critical to Guerrero Jr. He has made it clear he wants to hit third in the order rather than second, and Toronto manager John Schneider appears willing to grant that wish." -Hudak
Since shifting to the third spot in the batting order on June 15, Guerrero's production has shown promising signs. Heading into play on June 19, he's recorded five hits, one home run, six RBI's, six walks, and just two strikeouts since the move.
"His career slash line batting third is .301/.378/.539 with a 152 wRC+. His career slash line is .265/.345/.429 with a 117 wRC+. Guerrero's performance while batting third in the order is more aligned with the type of player he needs to be for a 14-year, $500 million extension as a cornerstone of the franchise." -Hudak
Although the lineup change didn't yield on Thursday, it's crucial part of the internal evaluation process as the team looks to optimize its roster.
With the MBL trade deadline approaching, subtle adjustments like repositioning Guerrero Jr. could be key in determining the Blue Jays' most pressing needs on the market.
