The Toronto Blue Jays announced an update regarding pitcher Alek Manoah regarding his next rehab assignment.
Manoah recently had his first rehab assignment earlier this week and things went poorly to say the least as he gave up a total of 4 runs including 3 earned runs in 22 pitches.

Manoah threw 22 pitches this week for the FCL Blue Jays in which he struck out 1 batter, walked two and gave up 3 earned runs in 0.1 innings pitched which seemed to be an issue with his command of the ball.

Manoah is working his way back from TJS and it's great to see that his velocity is back to pre-injury levels. It'll be a a gradual ramp up which may hopefully lead to some extra reinforcements for the Blue Jays pitching staff

The Blue Jays stated that they were not concerned with the way he pitched in his first game and that their main concern was just getting him back out there in a game setting against an opposing team.
The latest update stated that Manoah is now set to play in his second rehab assignment game on Sunday as the team is hoping he can pitch at least 2 innings.
Alek Manoah's next rehab outing will be Sunday with the Dunedin Blue Jays. He'll be aiming to complete two innings.

Hopefully this start will go better for Manoah than the last one as he struggled quite a bit in his first outing.
If Manoah is able to find his game, adding a prime Manoah back into the Blue Jays starting rotation for the end of the season could be the difference maker for them.
