Toronto Blue Jays pitcher Alek Manoah is finally back on the mound but things did not go according to plan in his first game which Manoah spoke on.

Manoah was back on the mound for the first time since last season on Monday with the Florida Complex League Blue Jays and he had a rough time giving up 3 earned runs and 1 hit in 0.1 innings.

Blue Jays pitcher Alek Manoah speaks on his first game

The Blue Jays stated that as Manoah headed into his first game back on the mound, they were not concerned with stats, they simply want him to get back out there to face an opposing team.
The 2022 Cy Young finalist faced five batters, giving up four runs (three earned) on two walks, a hit batter and a single. He managed just one out on a strikeout before being pulled. -Laskaris

Manoah after the game stated that it felt great to be back out there after the long journey and he is thankful to be back on the mound, able to compete and have fun every day.
Man felt so great to be back out there, hear the National Anthems and toe that rubber. 392 days! Thank you Jesus! Been a long journey, look forward to continuing to get better, have fun and COMPETE everyday!!
The strange part in all of this is that Manoah failed to mentioned a single thing about his outing not going well, clearly he was happy just to get back out there but the team needs to see more from him if they plan on using him in August.
If Toronto can get Manoah back into the pitcher he was in 2022 then they will have a real chance at competing for the World Series but if he pitches how he did over the last two years he could end up putting them in some big trouble.
While this is still a very small sample size, fans are worrying that Manoah will simply never return to his prime form.
