The Toronto Blue Jays announce early this afternoon that they have decided to call up pitcher Eric Lauer from the Buffalo Bisons.
The Blue Jays signed Casey Lawrence recently as they are still having issues in their bullpen in which he pitched in his first game last night giving up 6 hits and 3 earned runs in 2.2 innings pitched.

The Blue Jays announced this afternoon that due to yesterday's brutal 10-2 loss to the Boston Red Sox they had no choice but to call up Lauer since their bullpen is currently depleted.
Yesterday, starting pitcher Bowden Francis only pitched 3 innings before being pulled as he gave up 8 hits and 7 earned runs in that time which led the Blue Jays to use a lot of their bullpen for the rest of the game.
Lefty Eric Lauer is heading up to the Blue Jays, per source. He was slated to start for triple-A Buffalo, so he's on turn.
The Blue Jays lost their bulk for today's bullpen game when Bowden Francis only went three innings and just added Casey Lawrence mopped up 2.2 frames.

The Blue Jays signed Lauer to a minor league deal which included a Spring Training invitation early into the off-season and this will be his first time back in the MLB since 2023 with the Milwaukee Brewers.
So far this season with the Buffalo Bisons, Lauer has a 4.50 ERA in 24 innings pitched with a 1-3 record on the season so far to go along with 21 strikeouts and a 1.25 WHIP.
This move will likely not change much for the Blue Jays who are in a massive slump right now and need some solid offense to help them get out of it.
It will be interesting to see if they can finally put off a win tonight against the Red Sox or if it will be another disaster.
