The Toronto Blue Jays announce quite a surprising roster move earlier this afternoon as starting pitcher Easton Lucas has been optioned to Triple-A.
Lucas has been surprising a lot of people in Spring Training since he getting a lot of chances to pitch by the Blue Jays which is why many thought meant he might actually start the season with the team.

The Blue Jays broke the news earlier this afternoon that they decided to option Lucas down to Triple-A after having a tough couple starts in his last couple games in the Grapefruit league.

Lucas has finished his Spring Training with a tough 8.64 ERA in 4 games and 8.1 innings pitched which is far from great for a 28 year old pitcher who has a little bit of MLB experience.

It will be interesting to see if the Blue Jays end up giving him another shot down the line maybe out of the bullpen but he will certainly have to improve his numbers for that to happen.
The Blue Jays claimed Lucas from the Detroit Tigers last August and called him up in late September where he pitched a total of 4.2 innings, finishing with a 11.57 ERA in two games for the Blue Jays.
