The Toronto Blue Jays announce early this morning that they have acquired a new pitchers from the Miami Marlins as they have closed a trade for Robinson Pina.
The Blue Jays recently released relief pitcher Erik Swanson which is why it makes sense that they grabbed his replacement in Pena from the Marlins.
Blue Jays complete trade with the Marlins for Robinson Pina
The Marlins announced that a few days ago they decided to DFA 27 year old pitcher Robinson Pina after a very tough first inning in the major leagues as he currently has a 9.00 ERA in 1 inning pitched.
News broke early this morning that the Blue Jays have agreed to send prospect pitcher Colby Martin to Miami in exchange for Pina in a one for one trade.
#Marlins and Blue Jays appear to be finalizing a trade.
Miami will be getting Minor League pitcher Colby Martin for Robinson Piña, who was recently designated for assignment.
Martin is a converted infielder. At High-A level.

The Blue Jays are expected to send Pina to Triple-A with the Buffalo Bisons as they completed the trade to help with their bullpen pitcher depth as they head into the second half of the season.
As
@CDeNicola13
reported, Blue Jays acquiring righty Robinson Pina from the Marlins for minor-league righty Colby Martin, per source.
Blue Jays see Robinson, who is expected to head to Buffalo, as additional pitching depth and another bulk/relief option.
