Catching up from last night, #BlueJays released Erik Swanson.
Really hope he bounces back wherever he lands.
After returning from IL, the Blue Jays were hoping that
Swanson would help their bullpen improve but he did quite the opposite posting a 15.19 ERA in 5.1 innings pitched with 3 strikeouts.
Despite the brutal start to the season, it is surprising that Swanson was not picked off waivers by another team but he will certainly be able to land a new contract in free agency.
There is a good chance that due to his injury and numbers posted so far this season, Swanson will only be able to land a minor league deal in free agency as he will need to prove himself before returning to the MLB.
As the Blue Jays have multiple pitchers returning from IL, the bullpen should not have too many issues with losing Swanson.
