The Toronto Blue Jays finally announce injury update on Andres Gimenez
Gimenez has been out since last week when he left the game with a quad injury with first had him listed as day to day but it looks like the injury ended up being more serious than originally expected.
Blue Jays finally announce injury update regarding Andres Gimenez
When Gimenez went down last week, many were worried that the Blue Jays had no one to replace him but Addison Barger has stepped up in a major way since then and has proven to the team that he deserves to be an everyday starter.
News broke last night regarding Gimenez that he is set to finally start his recovery process after resting for the past week as he will begin running this weekend and will likely get into a few rehab games before returning to the Blue Jays lineup.
#BlueJays injury updates on Giménez and Scherzer:
• Plan is for Giménez to start running this weekend, so he'll still need time to ramp up and play a few rehab games.
• Scherzer is still playing catch, so he needs to get back up to facing live hitters again.
This is great news for the Blue Jays since along with
Daulton Varsho, Gimenez is one of their best players on the field but with his return comes a lot of questions surrounding
Addison Barger.
When Gimenez returns, the Blue Jays will need to find a new spot for Barger since sending him back down to the minors simply does not make sense with how much of a factor he has been so far since being called up.
Hopefully the Blue Jays make the right move since Barger definitely deserves to be in the MLB but that might not stop the front office from making a big mistake.
