As an undrafted free agent, the

have signed OF Matt Scannell (

), Wake Forest!
Congrats to Matt and his family!
Scannell played for Wake Forest university last season in which he finished with 12 homeruns, 49 RBIs and a .300 batting average in 59 games during the 2025 season.
In 2024, Scannell played at Princeton University where he put solid numbers, finishing the season with 8 homeruns, 21 RBIs and a .276 batting average in 43 games.
This move seems to be another smart decision and low risk move by GM ross Atkins ahead of the trade deadline.
While all of these signings over the past couple weeks have been very good for the team's future, Atkins has some seriously big pressure to deliver in the next few days with the trade deadline less than a week away.
