The Toronto Blue Jays have released former Phillies Starter Spencer Turnbull.
Turnbull did not get much of a chance in Toronto as he only pitched in 6.1 innings this season, giving up 12 hits, 5 runs and striking out 4 batters in that time to finish with a 7.11 ERA.
After the severe injury Turnbull had last season plus the terrible numbers he put up with the Blue Jays this year, it will definitely not be easy for the starter to find himself a new contract.
Turnbull's best chance of finding a new home will likely be to sign a minor league deal and prove that he is good enough to be a major league once again.
Hopefully he can figure something out, if not he is headed for early retirement.
