The Blue Jays announced yesterday that they have signed international free agent pitcher Daniel De La Cruz to a minor league as he will likely be assigned to the Florida Complex League Blue Jays or the Dominican Summer League team.
There has not be a ton of information released on
De La Cruz apart from the fact that he is 17 years old, standing at 6'3 and 180 pounds but there will surely be more details coming out in the next few days.
The Blue Jays seem adamant on trying to improve their farm systems on adding international free agents which they have been doing all season long but this will clearly not fix all of their farm system problems.
The Blue Jays main issue seems to be drafting which they have done a better job of over the last couple year's especially when it comes to pitcher Trey Yesavage but they need to be more consistent when drafting if they really want to improve their farm system.

Yesavage is an advanced arm that has one of the most interesting arsenals in baseball. His extremely high release point allows his fastball to get a ton of carry, while also limiting glove-side movement on his secondaries.
Even if this is not a groundbreaking signing, clearly the Blue Jays are trying to do what they can as of right now to change things up in their farm system.
