The Toronto Blue Jays are currently two games ahead of the New York Yankees for first place in the AL East but they have some serious trouble heading their way.

The Blue Jays have some big plans in the next couple weeks as they trade deadline rapidly approaches but prior to that they will need to focus on the field as they have quite the schedule ahead.

The Toronto Blue Jays have a seriously difficult schedule ahead of the trade deadline

The Blue Jays begin the last leg of the season tonight against the San Francisco Giants in Toronto followed by a few very tough series right before the trade deadline.
Prior to the trade deadline, the Blue Jays will face the Giants starting tonight, followed by the New York Yankees who will certainly put up a fight after being swept before the break then they will take on the AL leading Detroit Tigers.
The first 10-game stretch out of the break is a whopper for the Jays, a stern test that can give an early indication of how legit their contender credentials might be. It starts with three against the San Francisco Giants (52-45), followed by three against the Yankees (who surely won't roll over as they did earlier in the month during a four-game sweep at the hands of the Jays) and then on to Detroit for four against the AL-leading Tigers. -Longley

While this can be some big trouble for the Blue Jays if they don't end up on top at the end of these series, it can also be a great test for them ahead of the trade deadline since if they can win 2 of the 3 series coming up, they will know exactly where they stand.
Seeing how the Blue Jays will play against the Giants, Yankees and Tigers will also give management a great idea of exactly the missing pieces they need to add at the trade deadline.
There is no doubt the Blue Jays need to make some big additions at the trade deadline but if they can but if they can win more than they lose in these next 3 series, it will prove once and for all that this team means business.
Out of these three series, the Giants will be the easiest match up which proves just how hard the next three series will be since they currently have a 52-45 record.
