The Toronto Blue Jays recently made an announcement regarding rookie Alan Roden after deciding to option him to Triple-A a few weeks ago.
Roden was not the only player who was sent down to Triple-A after a rough start to the season as Davis Schneider was also optioned and he has been on fire offensively since landing in Buffalo.

Roden had a great Spring Training followed by a decent start to the 2025 season but then his production at the plate saw a big drop which is why they decided to send him down to the Buffalo Bisons.
One such player is outfielder Alan Roden, who after a solid first few weeks of the season, rapidly declined at the plate and became more of a liability than an asset. -Trottier
Since landing back in the minors, Roden has been on fire at the plate with a .386 batting average, .460 on base percentage with 9 RBIs, 9 runs scored and 3 homeruns in 10 games.
In 10 games so far, he is slashing .386/.460/.682 with nine runs, nine RBI, three home runs, three stolen bases and six walks to five strikeouts. -Trottier
Not only has Roden been great at the plate since returning to Buffalo but he has been impressing defensively where he has 16 putouts, one assist and only one error for a .944 fielding rate.
Additionally, his fielding has been enormously impressive, as in 77.2 innings of outfield work, he has 16 putouts, one assist, one double play turned and one error, good for a .944 fielding rate. -Trottier
Now with both Schneider and Roden playing incredibly well it is only a matter of time before one of them is called back up to the majors but the Blue Jays will have to decide which player will have a bigger immediate impact.
Most are not surprised that Roden has been doing so well in the minors since he is an incredible player and is still very young which is why he likely just needed some more time to develop.
