The Toronto Blue Jays have been busy this morning as they have signed two pitchers to help with their current injuries, the second being Jose Urena.
Earlier this morning it was announced that the Blue Jays signed Spencer Turnbull to a major league deal, pending a physical, to help with all of their injuries in the bullpen.
Blue Jays sign former New York Mets pitcher Jose Urena
Former Mets pitcher Jose Urena decided to elected for free agency after being DFA by the Mets a couple of days ago which made hi a free agent once again and the Blue Jays jumped on the chance to get him.
The Blue Jays have had a busy morning with signing knew players, while Turnbull is definitely the more solid pitcher out of the two, Urena has had some solid seasons in the past he just struggled this year.
Urena had a 15.00 ERA in 3 innings pitched for the Mets so far this season but with the Texas Rangers last year he finished with a 3.80 ERA in 109 innings pitched while striking out 70 batters.
Since the Blue Jays are still waiting on Scherzer's return, bringing in Urena to the starting rotation could be a solid back up option since all of their options within the organization have failed.
Hopefully these two new signings have a solid impact.
