During a recent interview,
Gimenez finally opened up about what happened when he was traded and how he felt about the entire situation while also his feelings towards moving to a new country.
According to Gimenez, he had no idea that he was at risk of being traded which is why he was completely shocked by the news especially since he had just signed a new deal the year before.
Ready for a new beginning
In #SpringTraining1BN Andrés Giménez admitted that he was surprised to be traded to #BlueJays because, after signing the extension in 2023, he thought he was going to spend a lot of time in Cleveland
But all that's in the past. Now he's just thinking about competing and conquering Toronto
Gimenez despite being surprised, seems to be happy to have landed in Toronto as he is excited for a fresh start and to compete while trying to bring the Blue Jays back to the top of the AL East..
The Blue Jays new second baseman is looking solid so far in Spring Training and seems to be fitting in quite well with his new teammates.
So far in the Grapefruit League, Gimenez has 7 hits, 4 runs and 3 RBIs in 26 at bats with a .250 batting average and a .344 on base percentage.
