The Blue Jays have been searching for an infielder, more specifically a second baseman this off-season and they have a serious hole their as none of their current second baseman are able to be everyday players.

MLB insider Jeff Passan just announced that the Blue Jays finalized a trade with the Cleveland Guardians right after the draft lottery for three time Gold Glove winner Andres Gimenez.
BREAKING: The Toronto Blue Jays are finalizing a trade to acquire three-time Gold Glove-winning second baseman Andrés Giménez from the Cleveland Guardians, sources tell ESPN.
Gimenez is not the offensive weapon the Blue Jays have been looking for but he is an incredible second baseman hence the three Gold Gloves and is still under contract until 2029.
Andres Gimenez is an incredible defensive player. One of the best. Tons of speed also.
Offensively he had a 141 wRC+ in 2022 and then followed it up with a 96 in 2023 and an 84 last year.
Under contract until 2029 with a club option for 2030
