The Blue Jays have been extremely unlucky so far this season when it comes to injury especially with their pitchers as they have multiple of the injured list as of right now.
Blue Jays announce injury update on outfielder Anthony Santander
Santander missed the last two games against the Seattle Mariners due to a shoulder injury he suffered last earlier this week against the Angels but it looks like it is not as serious as some may have worried.
While chasing a foul ball, Santander crashed into the stands, leading to his removal from the game. As a result, he was not included in the starting lineup for Friday's game against the Mariners. -Adeduyite
Having Santander out for the Blue Jays is quite the loss since he was arguably their biggest free agent signing of the off season even if he has been off to a very slow start this season with a .196 batting average.
Santander's absence is significant for Toronto. Acquired in the offseason to bolster the lineup, he has contributed five home runs and 16 RBIs this season, despite a .196 batting average. -Adeduyite
The severity of the injury has yet to be announced but for the time being it seems like they have no played him against the Mariners as a precaution as they cannot afford to lose another player to injury.
It seems like they have no passed any tests on Santander just yet which is a good sign because if it was a significant injury they would have for sure had him take some scans.
Hopefully Santander will be ready to go for the Blue Jays next series against the Tampa Bay Rays which begins on Tuesday night in Toronto.
