The Toronto Blue Jays have been patiently waiting for outfielder Daulton Varsho's return and according to manager John Schneider that day is finally close.

Varsho recently started his rehab assignment with the Dunedin Blue Jays alongside teammate and pitcher Alek Manoah who is still expected to return to the mound sometime in August.

John Schneider announces update on Blue Jays outfielder Daulton Varsho

Toronto has been on fire in Varsho's absence but having him return to the lineup will only make this team better as he is one of the best defensive outfielders in baseball.

Manager John Schneider stated that Varsho will be playing with the Buffalo Bisons in Triple-A on Friday and will likely play a total of three games there before joining the team in Baltimore next week.

Daulton Varsho is headed for Triple-A Buffalo by Friday, John Schneider says, and likely needs ~3 games there.

Sounds like we could see Varsho back with the #BlueJays at some point in Baltimore.

BIG news

This is huge for the Blue Jays since Varsho is a massive piece on their lineup up especially on the defensive side of the ball.

Adding Varsho to a lineup that is already thriving will only help the Blue Jays take an even bigger lead on the New York Yankees for first place as they are currently ahead by a total of three games.
