Toronto Blue Jays second baseman Andres Gimenez went down against the Los Angeles Angels yesterday and the Blue Jays have finally given an update on the MRI.

Blue Jays manager John Schneider announced after the game that the team thought that he was fine after hurting his ankle after hurting his ankle against the New York Yankees but it looks like it was worse than expected.

Blue Jays announce update on Andres Gimenez' MRI

After last night's game, Schneider told the media that Gimenez hurt his ankle on Wednesday but that running between bases yesterday he aggravated his ankle and after being pulled from the game went in for an MRI.
Blue Jays manager John Schneider said Andres Gimenez is «going to get an MRI tonight and just see what's going on» with the ankle.

The Blue Jays thought «we had kind of dodged a bullet there with how he was feeling earlier» in the day. First-to-third run may have changed that.
The results of Gimenez MRI are still yet to be announced as their are waiting on the full assessment but it looks like he is currently listed as day to day and will not be available for tonight unless of an emergency.
Blue Jays still considering Andres Gimenez day-to-day while awaiting assessment of the MRI he had on his ankle Friday night

Unlikely he's available off the bench on Saturday unless needed in an emergency situation, per manager John Schneider
Doesn't sound like Andrés Giménez will be available in any capacity today as the #BlueJays wait on the results of the MRI on his ankle.

Still a day-to-day deal for now.
The timing with this is simply unfortunate as the Blue Jays were finally starting to get their entire team back from IL and now this injury simply puts them right back where they started.
The good news is that the Blue Jays are currently on fire and it seems like they are continuously building momentum no matter who is in the lineup as they have had some shaky lineups over the last few games but continue to win.
Hopefully Gimenez will not be out for too long but it certainly does not look good.
