The Toronto Blue Jays announce this afternoon that they have decided to DFA another pitcher this time Casey Lawrence.
The Blue Jays have DFA'd pitcher Casey Lawrence
The Blue Jays claimed Lawrence off waivers from the Mariners on April 28th for a third stint with the team, his last being in 2022 but it looks like he did not even last 48 hours.
ROSTER MOVE:
We've claimed RHP Casey Lawrence off waivers from the Mariners
Toronto decided to call up Eric Lauer from the Buffalo Bisons this afternoon and consequently DFA'd
Lawrence to make room which means he is once again done in Toronto.
ROSTER MOVES:
LHP Eric Lauer has been selected to the Major League roster and will be active tonight
RHP Casey Lawrence designated for assignment
News: Eric Lauer is up with the #BlueJays
He'll either start tonight or pitch heavy innings behind an opener.
Casey Lawrence DFA'd.
This is not a big surprise since Lawrence went into last night's game against the Red Sox and gave up 6 hits and 3 earned runs in 2.2 innings pitched while striking out only 1 batter.
After this short stint in Toronto the chances of Lawrence being claimed off waivers once again by another team or landing another contract if he becomes a free agent once again are very slim.
