Toronto Blue Jays broadcaster Buck Martinez has been on scheduled time off for the last month or so and he seems to finally be making his return but it will not be for long.

Recent report suggested that Joe Siddall who has been replacing Martinez during this break will likely end up taking over from him once Martinez decides to finally retire.

Buck Martinez set to return to Blue Jays broadcast against the Yankees

The Blue Jays are set to kick off their series against the Yankees for the start of a small homestand on June 30th right before Canada Day and it looks like a familiar voice will finally be back in the booth.
Martinez announced that he is set to return to the booth for the Canda Day series against the New York Yankees but will then go back on leave as he has the majority of the month of July off for his 50th anniversary.
First things first: Martinez, who is taking some extended scheduled time off from his regular analyst's role on the Sportsnet broadcasts, will return for a home stand against the New York Yankees at Rogers Centre starting on June 30. -Longley

«I'm taking some scheduled time off,» Martinez told the Toronto Sun on Monday. «But I'll be back for that homestand (against the Yankees). And then I'll have a good chunk of July off for my 50th anniversary. My schedule is to do 100 games.» -Martinez

Since Martinez is only in the booth for 100 games this seaso, he will likely continue to take less and less game eveery year before he finally decides to officially retire from the game of baseball.
While it will be an extremely sad day when Martinez decides to finally call it a career, Blue Jays fans will be thankful for the decades he has spent with the team giving all fans countless memories.
Hopefully this day does not come any time soon but if it does, it looks like the Blue Jays broadcasts are in good hands with Joe Siddall and Dan Shulman.
Fans will be happy to see Martinez back in the booth for Canada Day before another extended leave.
