The Toronto Blue Jays are still looking to land to a solid hitter this off-season and the latest report has them landing Anthony Santander according to Jon Heyman.
The Blue Jays have been linked to both Teoscar Hernandez and Anthony Santander but with how things are going, there is a chance that they end up landing both of them this off-season.
The Blue Jays are apparently the leaders to land Anthony Santander according to Jon Heyman
According to MLB insider Jon Heyman's most recent report, the Blue Jays are the top team to land Teoscar Hernandez this off-season as they seem to be everyone's best guess as where he will end up.
on Heyman of the New York Post reported Thursday that the Blue Jays are «nearly everyone's best guess» for the eventual landing spot of power-hitting right fielder Anthony Santander. Heyman notes too though that the Boston Red Sox are the industry's next best guess after Toronto. -Albert
Santander is coming off an unbelievable season in 2024 after hitting a career high in homeruns with 44 and 102 RBIs which is why he is lined up for an incredible payday this winter.
Santander, 30, was an All-Star and a Silver Slugger Award winner in 2024 on the strength of a 44-home-run, 102-RBI season for the Baltimore Orioles (though on just a .235 batting average). The switch hitter remains unsigned though almost two whole months into free agency. -Albert
If the Blue Jays plans end up working out contrary to how it has gone with other targets recently, they could end up with Teoscar Hernandez, Corbin Burnes and Santander which would definitely fire up the fanbase.
In all three cases, the Blue Jays might need to overspend to acquire these players but all three are worth it as they will bring a whole new life to the team for the 2025 season.
Even if they missed out on Soto, signing these three players can turn the franchise around and make the top team in the AL East next season.
