Former Toronto Blue Jays pitcher Trent Thornton went down during a game the other day in which he needed to be carted off and it looks like his season is officially done according to the Seattle Mariners.
Most pitchers that have a season ending injury, it often has to do with their throwing arm which either ends up being a elbow or shoulder injury but Thornton had something else.

The Mariners announced after the game that Thornton torn his Achilles on the play and has now been placed on 15 day IL but he is done for the season with this severe of an injury.

This is a devastating injury for Thornton who was having a decent season with the Mariners which has now come to an abrupt end due to this major injury Friday night.
Thornton spent 4 and a half season in Toronto before being traded to the Seattle Mariners back in 2023 as the Blue Jays received shortstop Mason McCoy in exchange.
At 31 years old, a torn Achilles will not be an easy injury to come back from for Thronton.
