Toronto Blue Jays Bo Bichette leaves the game in the second inning
The Toronto Blue Jays took on the Detroit Tigers this afternoon and all-star shortstop Bo Bichette left the game in the second inning which many worried was due to an injury.
Bichette is going into a very important season this year as he looks to bounce back from last year's struggles while also trying to play his best baseball as he is in the final year of his current contract.
The Blue Jays took on the Tigers this afternoon and fans had quite the worry when shortstop Bo Bichette left the game which fans worried that it was from an injury after falling awkwardly during his second at bat.
MLB insider Ben Nicholson-Smith reported on social media right away that he was not sure if Bichette left due to an injury or if he was scheduled to leave the game after his second at bat which is normal for Spring Training.
Bo Bichette exits the game after 2 at-bats. Leo Jimenez comes in at SS. Might have been a planned exit, as established players don't play full games in spring, but he did fall to the ground on a big swing vs. Tarik Skubal a couple mins ago. May be precautionary. Will update later
It turns out that Bichette was only scheduled to take two at bats today and that he has no injuries from any of his falls which the team confirmed to Nicholson-Smith.
Bo Bichette was scheduled for two at-bats today. All good here.
Blue Jays fans were relieved to get this news as the team has been already dealing with enough serious injuries and did not want to be dealing with one more a couple weeks before the start of the season.
