For several consecutive years the Awful Announcing team asked its fans to rank the best broadcast crews amongst the MLB, and to no one's surprise Buck Martinez, Dan Shulman and the Toronto Blue Jays broadcast team ranked 4th in the league.
Toronto Blue Jays broadcast team ranked fourth best by Awful Announcing
Matthew Sookram of Jays Journal broke the news regarding the success of the Blue Jays broadcast team. The Buck Martinez and Dan Shulman duo along with the rest of the crew received nothing but gold stars from the Awful Announcing fanbase.
"Awful Announcing says, "A significant number of people liked the Blue Jays' booth, with it receiving 387 As and 387 Bs out of 1,017 votes. This booth also only received 32 Fs, tied for the fewest in our poll with the Orioles and Twins. Toronto finished fourth in 2023 with a 3.07 and sixth last year with a 2.89."-Sookram
Dan Shulman was especially mentioned from the voters comments, the former ESPN announcer is highly regarded as one of the best in baseball.
"Shulman received a ton of accolades in the voters comments, "«Shulman elevates this booth in a big way,» «Every Blue Jays game feels special because I associate Shulman with the best games of the week,» and «Dan Shulman's voice fits baseball, miss him on ESPN Sunday Night.»-Sookram
When you pair that with Buck Martinez you have an incredible duo. You have Shulman who is a real savant of the game and then you have the more light hearted relief from Buck, who loves to share his fun stories.
It's a tremendous honour for the team but it is one Blue Jays fans and even baseball fans are not very surprised with.
