The Blue Jays trade Stroman back in 2019 to the New York Mets after being their one of their top pitcher for a few years in which 2019 was arguably his best which is why fans were surprised by the move.

While Stroman had a down year last season with the Yankees putting up a 4.331 ERA with 113 strikeouts in 154.2 innings, he could still attract some interest from the Blue Jays and other teams as long as the asking price is not too high.
Stroman is entering the final year of his contract and if the Blue Jays are unable to land a top end pitcher this off-season, Stroman could be a low risk option since if things do not work out, they can release him to free agency.
Regardless of who the Blue Jays sign, they need to start making moves soon as the best players will be gone if they wait too long.
