The Yankees have reportdedly put former Blue Jays pitcher Marcus Stroman on the trade block
MLB insider Mark Feinsand recently put together a list which included one trade candidate for each MLB team in which he had pitcher Marcus Stroman down for the New York Yankees.
Feinsand stated that he does not believe the Yankees are actively looking to trade Stroman but are hoping to offers if another team is interested which is where the Blue Jays come into play.
According to MLB.com's Mark Feinsand, pitcher Marcus Stroman is a prime candidate to be traded from the New York Yankees this offseason.
There's been no indication that the Yankees are actively trying to trade Stroman, but Feinsand identified one likely trade piece from each team. -Farkas
The Blue Jays traded him to the Mets in the 2019 season and then promptly made the playoffs in the COVID shortened 2020 season. -Farkas
While Stroman had a down year last season with the Yankees putting up a 4.331 ERA with 113 strikeouts in 154.2 innings, he could still attract some interest from the Blue Jays and other teams as long as the asking price is not too high.
Stroman is entering the final year of his contract and if the Blue Jays are unable to land a top end pitcher this off-season, Stroman could be a low risk option since if things do not work out, they can release him to free agency.
Regardless of who the Blue Jays sign, they need to start making moves soon as the best players will be gone if they wait too long.
