The Toronto Blue Jays are still in negotiations with Bo Bichette but it looks like if they end up landing him it will be at a steep overpay.
A recent report from Keegan Matheson stated that both parties are still very interested in getting a deal to work but they have yet to agree on a final number.
Blue Jays need to overpay to keep Bo Bichette
During a recent segment on the MLB Network, Matt Vasgerian spoke on how the Blue Jays have a real chance at returning to the World Series but need to find a way to guarantee that Bichette will return.
Vasgerian mentioned that the Blue Jays should overpay Bichette if they need to make sure that he does not get tempted by offers from other teams.

Due to everything Bichette has done for the Blue Jays, fans seem to be onboard with an overpay if they end up being able to bring back Bichette on a long term deal.
I don't care if it takes a massive «overpay» to get it done, make Bo Bichette a Blue Jay for life
If Toronto end up offering Bichette $20 million more than he is worth to make sure he returns that would be around $2.5 million more per season over 8 years which would be worth it.
