Toronto Blue Jays GM Ross Atkins apologizes for controversial decision

The Toronto Blue Jays and Ross Atkins made a tough decision designatingAlex Manoah for assignment which Atkins went on to apoligize for.
Ross Atkins even went on to apologize for the decision.
Aaliyan Mohammed of Newsweek broke the news of Manoah's assignment.
Clearly, it wasn't an easy decision by any means, as Manoah was once a Cy Young finalist, it's saddening to see him not reach that level again but it is why he will no longer be with the Blue Jays.
The Blue Jays ultimately chose to add Santander to the lineup over Manoah which resulted in the move.
"The reality is, Manoah had not been good the last two seasons. He was not dominating in the minor leagues while he worked his way back, and the Blue Jays made a decision in the best interest of their team right now. Santander can help the team win now, and he needs a spot on the roster."-Mohammed
Santander was not performing well prior to his injury, while it was way back in May, there is still high hopes he returns to that form again to help continue the great hitting season the Blue jays have had.
Ross Atkins acknowledged the difficulty of the decision, and went on to apologize for it, despite it being the right thing to do.
"We chose others over him, obviously, so it was very tough and a very difficult decision,They always are.Sorry we're at this point today,» Atkins told Matheson while wishing Manoah the best."-Atkins
The drop off of Manoah's career is sad to see, and hopefully this assignment will allow him to find a new home and start fresh, in hopes of finding his great form again.
