The Toronto Blue Jays have shown early on this season that the biggest concern facing this team is in full display after being outscored 16-3 and a doubleheader against the New York Yankees.

The ability to score runs have become a major problem for the Blue Jays as this has cost them many games including the ability to hit the long ball as the Blue Jays have hit fifteen home runs this year and sit 29th out of 30th in the overall standings of that metric.

Sunday's losses set Blue Jays back in standing in AL East

After winning their first game against the Yankees, the Blue Jays lost 11-2 and 5-1 on Sunday which now puts the Blue Jays four games back of the Yankees for first in the American League East.
At one point the team was one game back and appeared to be improving on several fronts, but these last three series have been tough for the team as this six game road trip has resulted in a record of 1-5 including being swept by the Houston Astros.
Having scored only nine runs in six games will not give you a great chance to win and the Blue Jays management along with manager John Schneider may have to look at other alternatives to find offense whether it's through trade early in the season or looking at the Buffalo Bisons in Triple A for possible reinforcements.
The Blue Jays called up outfielder Jonatan Clase and designated him the 27th man as he joined the team for the doubleheader in New York.
Despite having great numbers with Buffalo, his first game back with the Blue Jays he was at bat 4 times and resulted in one strike out.

Blue Jays heading home for six game homestand

The team is looking to put this road trip behind them as they head back to Rogers centre as they will take on the Boston Red Sox this week in a three-game series along with the set against the Cleveland Guardians.
Last time when the Blue Jays met the Red Sox, the team had far better success in the hitting and scoring run department which many hope will happen again and help turn things around as the team tries to right the ship.
The Blue Jays will begin their home stand on Tuesday April 29th and game time will begin at 7:07 PM eastern.
