Toronto Blue Jays manager John Schneider has given high praise in a major vote of confidence for Blue Jays closer Jeff Hoffman as he has emerged as the best acquisition so far in this young season.

The Blue Jays acquired him through free agency as he signed a three-year deal worth $33 million and has given the Blue Jays stability and saves as he has settled into his role with the team.

Former Blue Jays draft pick returns and has delivered

Hoffman, was a former first round draft pick by the Blue Jays who was then traded to the Colorado Rockies in a package that helped the team acquire Troy Tulowitzki and Trey LaHawkins during those magical couple of years in 2015 and 2016.

«On a scale of 1 to 10, in terms of trust, it's probably a 300," Schneider told Mitch Bannon of The Athletic. - John Schneider

The 32-year-old closer had the opportunity to sign with other organizations including the Baltimore Orioles who had decided at the last moment to renege on their three-year offer after they were uncomfortable with his medical reports on his shoulder.
In the end he chose to sign with his old team and has been fantastic through the 1st stretch of the new season.
Over his last seven games, he has been credited for a 3-0 winning record along with an ERA of 0.90 threw 10 innings pitched and has only allowed one earned run and WHIP of 0.50 With 16 strikeouts.

Blue Jays continue to expect top performances from Hoffman

Despite the Blue Jays overall issues including their offensive output, the organization has been receiving great pitching overall from their starting rotation and Hoffman's closings.
Despite this, the Blue Jays have much work ahead of them as the team looks to get back to their winning ways as they had taken two games from the Boston Red Sox in their latest three-game series which will now shift to the Cleveland Guardians for this weekend.
The series will begin on May 2nd and game time will be at 7:07 PM eastern.
