Blue Jays fans are confused by the decision to demote Will Wagner and keep Nathan Lukes
Fans are scratching there head ever since the news broke that the team decided to send Wagner down but keep Lukes since it now leaves them with a surplus of outfielders.
With Varsho in the fold, the Blue Jays now have seven outfielders on their roster (Varsho, Addison Barger, Nathan Lukes, Anthony Santander, Myles Straw, George Springer and Alan Roden). -Palattella
Keeping Barger was a good move since he has been playing well and can be used at third base but the big question is why hold onto Lukes when he is a left handed hitter like Varsho, can only play in the outfield and is only batting .222.
One of those players who shouldn't be in that mix is Nathan Lukes.
Not only is Lukes also a left-handed hitter like Varsho, but he's only hitting .222 and can only play in the outfield. -Palattella
Wagner was struggling to start the season but when looking at defense, he can be used at first second and third base which makes him a lot more valuable than Lukes who can only be used in the outfield.
On the other hand, Wagner can play second base, first base and third base. -Palettella
This move is quite questionable but it looks like the front office has their reasons.
