The Toronto Blue Jays are still waiting to finally get Max Scherzer back in the lineup and according to manager John Schneider that be sooner than expected.
Scherzer has been out since his first start of the season due to an on going thumb injury that has been lingering since last year then also dealt with some back problems during his rehab as well.

Max Scherzer just completed a live BP session at Rogers Centre with GM Ross Atkins, mgr John Schneider, pitching coach Pete Walker & many Blue Jays players observing. Appeared to go well, but Scherzer has said consistently the real test is how his thumb responds later.
Schneider stated after facing live hitters that they will see how he feels tomorrow but everything seems to be looking good so far and if he feels up for it, he will face more live hitter on Tuesday.
Max Scherzer is expected to face live hitters again Tuesday, Schneider said.
"We'll see how tomorrow goes. That's kind of the whole thing with Max. He's been trending in the right direction for a while now and that leads to optimism he can keep going forward." #BlueJays
If the Blue Jays can finally get a real full starting rotation going once again, they might actually have a real chance at making the playoffs this season.
