Toronto Blue Jays manager John Schneider has been facing some questions after pulling starting pitcher Chris Bassitt yesterday night against the Atlanta Braves.

Bassitt has been on fire for the Blue Jays so far this season which continued in yesterday's win as he finished with 10 strikeouts in 5 innings while only giving up 3 hits and 0 earned runs.
Toronto's pitching was lights-out, as starter Chris Bassitt (2-0) earned the win with 10 strikeouts in five shutout innings before the bullpen finished the job in the final four frames. Closer Jeff Hoffman allowed a solo homer in the ninth to Drake Baldwin, but it wasn't enough for Atlanta. -Valdez
After the game, Schneider was asked what he said to Bassitt after pulling him when he was on fire to which he apparently told the pitcher he knows he might hate him right now but that he was doing it for his own good.

«You can hate me now, but this is good for you and good for us in the long run," -Schneider
While it makes sense that Schneider did not want Bassitt to pitch too deep into the game this early in the season but at the same time fans would have loved to see him pitch a little while longer.
The good news is that despite all of this, the Blue Jays still walked away with a 3-1 win over the Braves but things would have gone a lot differently if they would have ended up losing after Bassitt left the game.
The Blue Jays are not set to host the Seattle Mariners tomorrow night with the game starting at 7:07 PM.
