According to MLB insider Jon Morosi, one Toronto Blue Jays prospect has unexpectedly become the most sought-after asset within the entire organization, and you won't believe who it is.

The Blue Jays are enjoying a standout season across every level of their organization.

This Blue Jays prospect just became the hottest commodity.

The Blue Jays are on pace for their best season since the mid-2010's, having caught up to the New York Yankees and entered the All-Star break with a two-game lead atop the American League East.
Kyle Morton from Toronto Blue Jays On Si writes Morosi reports that prospect pitcher Khal Stephen's stock is climbing within the organization. He highlights that Stephen's addition of a splitter has helped him achieve an impressive 1.75 ERA over 87.2 innings pitched across several minor league levels.
"According to MLB Pipeline, Toronto's top five currently consists of shortstop Arjun Nimmala, pitcher Trey Yesavage, infielder Orelvis Martinez and pitchers Ricky Tiedemann and Jake Bloss." -Morton

One of them is Stephen, the club's No. 9 top prospect. A second-round pick in the 2024 MLB Draft out of Mississippi State University, Stephen has impressed at both Single-A Dunedin and High-A Vancouver. In nine starts with Vancouver, he's posted a stellar 1.49 ERA.
Given his strong performance, it might be time for the team to test Stephen at the Double-A level. At just 22, he appears to be on a fast track, either as a potential contributor in Toronto sooner than expected or as a key piece in a major trade deadline deal.
