Toronto Blue Jays closer Jeff Hoffman made his first return to Philadelphia since signing in Toronto in the off-season and was shocked the reception Phillies fans gave him.
Blue Jays pitcher Jeff Hoffman receives warm welcome from Phillies fans
Hoffman signed a three year deal with the Blue Jays in the off-season and this weekend is the first time he is back in Philadelphia since his all-star season in 2024.
Before the game, the Phillies showed a tribute video for Hoffman who spent his last two seasons with the Phillies putting up some of the best numbers for a closer in baseball.

After the video played, fans gave Hoffman a very weak round of applause in which he stated that he would not be surprised if they boo him during the series if he ends up getting into a game.
They just showed a video tribute for former Phillie, Jeff Hoffman.
Hoffman tipped his cap to a smattering of applause. Said he wouldn't be surprised if he gets boo'd when he appears in a game.
Clearly fans are not too fond of
Hoffman wanting to leave Philadelphia in free agency even if there were no reports of the Phillies making him any time of offer due to his shoulder issues.
The Phillies ended up replacing Hoffman with former Blue Jays closer Jordan Romano who has been on fire lately.
