The Toronto Blue Jays loss their second series in a row to the Kansas City Royals yesterday for the first time since May and pitcher Kevin Gausman was not impressed.

Toronto is still waiting on newly acquired Shane Bieber to join the starting rotation but the team needs to find their confidence again as one pitcher will not turn their losing ways fully around.

The Blue Jays lost 7-4 yesterday but it certainly was not because of Chris Bassitt who had an incredible performance giving up only 1 hit and 1 earned run in 6 innings pitched.
Gausman spoke to the media after the loss stating that the Blue Jays have not been playing their game lately and all the things they were doing while they were winning only the last two months they have stepped away from.
"We need to play better and kind of have a little bit more focus. I think some of the things that we were really good at in our stretch when we were winning a ton of games, we kind of haven't been as sharp in those areas," -Gausman

The Blue Jays have been committing a lot of errors throughout their series against the Baltimore Orioles and Kansas City Royals which they need to figure out if they don't want the Boston Red Sox moving ahead of them in the standings.
While Gausman expects more from his teammates, he also needs to step up his game as he currently has a 3.99 ERA which is his worst ERA since 2019 when he was traded mid season.
Toronto is still in a great spot as they head into Colorado to take on the Rockies but they cannot afford to lose another series as the Red Sox continue to pick up momentum.
The only good news in all of this is that the Yankees have been struggling as well which means they at least don't have pressure from two teams for the moment.
The Blue Jays are set to kick their series off against the Rockies at Coors Field tonight at 8:40 PM.
