The Toronto Blue Jays had Max Scherzer on the mound yesterday and it looks like he is once again dealing with a couple injuries after only his second start since returning.

The Blue Jays announced that Scherzer was listed as day to day after his outing against the Yankees even though he pitched five solid innings, he apparently felt some pain in his thumb again.

After the win over the Yankees yesterday, manager John Schneider stated that Scherzer was dealing with some pain in his thumb and will likely take some time off after yesterday.
According to reporter Shi Davidi, he spoke with Scherzer after the game who spoke on his thumb injury but also added that he is dealing with some problems in his forearm as well.
Scherzer (thumb) said he experienced some forearm tightness after his thumb began to fatigue during his start against the Yankees on Thursday, Shi Davidi of Sportsnet.ca reports. -Rotowire

Max Scherzer "reported kind of feeling similar to after his last outing (in Cleveland), which is good," said John Schneider.

Scherzer said after start his thumb fatigued in fifth and he began feeling tightness in his forearm, but he was able to finish frame.
Scherzer did feel a similar pain to this after his first outing against the Cleveland Guardians but now that he is dealing with a thumb injury as well, this certainly does not look good.
While Scherzer might able to push through the pain for a few starts this season, there is no way that this is sustainable long term which is why Toronto needs to start exploring other options.
