Minnesota Twins interest in Seranthony Dominguez has Toronto Blue Jays fans watching the reliever market again.

MLB Trade Rumors reported Monday that Minnesota has shown interest in Dominguez, citing Darren Wolfson of KSTP. The key nuance is Wolfson calling it a brief check-in last month, not an active chase.
That still matters, because it tells you where the Twins are shopping. They are looking for a late-inning arm with real leverage experience, not another waiver carousel experiment.
Dominguez fits that description even without the hype. He elected free agency on November 2, 2025, after finishing the season in the Toronto Blue Jays bullpen following a July 29 trade from Baltimore.
For Minnesota, the timing is the point. January is when teams that missed on top relievers start circling proven veterans, and Dominguez is still sitting there without a public deal.
As for the Blue Jays, they have shown some kind of interest at the start of the winter in bringing Dominguez back but it looks like that chatter has quieted down.

Seranthony Dominguez meets Minnesota Twins urgency

The money should be manageable, which is why this rumor feels believable. Spotrac lists Dominguez as a 2026 free agent after a two-year, $7.25 million arbitration extension covering 2023 to 2025.
His market has already flickered once. MLB Trade Rumors connected the Boston Red Sox to Dominguez in December through MassLive reporting, so Minnesota would not be the first team to check the tire pressure.
From a pure baseball fit, he's the kind of righty who can take the eighth inning, and occasionally the ninth, when matchups demand it. That flexibility is exactly what a bullpen rebuild needs, especially for a club trying to climb back fast.
For Toronto, this is more of a reminder than a warning. Once you reach this stage of the offseason, solid relievers can disappear in a hurry, and the next milestone is always the same, who blinks first with a real offer.
