The Blue Jays won 3-1 last night to even up the series thanks to the brilliant performance of the team's bullpen which tied it at one game a piece after a very tough game 1 loss in which they gave up 11 runs in a 11-9 loss.
Kevin Gausman and Chris Bassitt get into a standoff
Prior to the start of last night's game, Francis and
Gausman decided to have a little bit of fun with Tampa Bay Rays catcher
Ben Rortvedt in a good old fashioned stand off.
After the National Anthem finished all three players stood their with their hand on their hearts hoping to be the last one standing on the field for almost 10 minutes until both teams agreed in a truce and left at the same time.
The anthems ended several minutes ago and Kevin Gausman and Bowden Francis are still standing still on the field, hats over hearts.
A member of the Rays is, as well.
It appears to be a standoff. #BlueJays
Despite the standoff resulting in a tie, they Blue Jays won the part that mattered, the game, in a 3-1 win over the Rays to tie up the series.
Bassitt was on the mound for Toronto and despite giving up 7 hits, the Blue Jays defense was on fire as they only ended up allowing 1 earned run out of those 7 hits while Bassitt finished with 6 strikeouts in 5.2 innings pitched.
