Blue Jays announce starting pitchers for series against the Cubs

Toronto is coming off a tough series against the Dodgers in which they struggled when it came to offense but seemed to have found their groove in the final game which will hopefully carry over to this series.
The Blue Jays announced the starting matchup for the series against the Cubs as Jose Berrios will be facing Ben Brown this evening, followed by Kevin Gausman vs Cade Horton tomorrow and Max Scherzer against Matt Boyd on Thursday.
#BlueJays projected pitching matchups vs Chicago Cubs

Jose Berrios (3.89 ERA) vs Ben Brown (6.04 ERA)

Kevin Gausman (3.85 ERA) vs Cade Horton (3.18 ERA)

Max Scherzer (4.21 ERA) vs Matt Boyd (2.45 ERA)
The Blue Jays will certainly have a tough matchup against Horton and Boyd but hopefully they can take advantage of facing Brown this evening who has been having a rough 2025 season as his ERA currently sits at 6.04.
This is another great test for the Blue Jays who can see where the team sits after the trade deadline since the Cubs are currently one of the best teams in the MLB this season.
Berrios will take the mound tonight and has hit a bit of a rough patch as his currently has a 5.71 ERA in his last 7 games with only 27 strikeouts in 34.2 innings pitched but will hopefully be able to start a turn around tonight as his season as a whole has been solid.
The Blue Jays face the Cubs tonight at the Rogers Centre at 7:07 PM.
