The Toronto Blue Jays announced their roster for the ALCS this morning and shortstop Bo Bichette was not there and the team finally announced why he was left off.

Blue Jays could still end up using Bo Bichette this series

Many thought that Bichette would end up playing in the ALCS as there was multiple positive updates on him this week but everything fell apart after a few drills at the Rogers Centre yesterday.
A video was released last night that saw Bichette running the bases and stopped in pain after rounding second which had many thinking he would miss out on the ALCS roster after all.
Here's video footage of Bo Bichette appearing to aggravate his knee injury while running the bases today at Rogers Centre.

Walked off gingerly and can be seen shaking his head in frustration. #postseason
Bichette could likely have been put on the roster and tested out but that would have come with consequences if he ended up not being ready to go and pulled off the roster.
If the Blue Jays ended up going this route, they would have ended up risking the possibility of losing Bichette for the World Series since a player removed from the lineup is not eligible for the following series.
Toronto only have one way to possibly get Bichette back in a Blue Jays uniform before free agency and that is making it to the World Series.
Now, the #BlueJays need to get Bo Bichette to the World Series to give him one last shot at this. That's nearly two weeks (Game 1 is Oct. 24)

With Bichette a pending free agent, there's only one way to avoid the possibility that he's played his last game in this uniform.
It will be interesting to see if Bichette will be able to play again this season or even if the Blue Jays make it to the World Series, he will still be in too much pain to play.
